Caricature Entertainment by Peter X

I was born in 1960 in Glen Cove, New York. My family moved to Wellesley, Massachusetts and then moved to San Francisco, California before settling in Lake Oswego, Oregon. My interest in art was encouraged at an early age by my mother, Jean, also an artist and art teacher of renown. I have been drawing and painting ever since.

I earned a football scholarship to the University of Idaho where I spent four years playing collegiate football while studying drawing and painting. In 1985 I signed as a placekicker with the New Orleans Saints. After a brief career in the NFL, I returned to the University of Oregon to continue my education and graduated with a BA in Fine Arts.

In September of 2000 I gave up my day job and became a full time artist. Since then I've drawn at numerous fairs and festivals, as well as hundreds of other type of events. I've been hired by companies and organizations to draw at events in Connecticut, Georgia, Texas, Washington, Idaho, Arizona and California.

I really enjoy the art of live caricature for many reasons. One of the biggest is that I really like people! For the short amount of time they sit in front of me, I want them to laugh, I want them to be entertained and I want them to feel good when they leave. I want to hear the guests say "Wow, this was a great idea to have a caricature artist at the party".

I take pride in being early to my events and ready to draw when I'm scheduled. I make it a point to always go the "extra mile" and render (no pun there!) more than I'm being paid for. I also take pride in my ability to capture the subject's likeness as well an injecting a bit of fun and humor. Whenever I draw at any event, I want to be the "Hit of the Party".
